It's nice if it happens, but I don't consider it likely beyond Hollywood movies. Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE laser fan. I have them on my primary off duty gun right now, and plan to put them on some others too.

If you search around you will see where I have posted about them before.

I'm not saying to depend on it, just that it can be a deterrent. And aside from that just helps with aiming in general and I wondered if you would really have enough time to use the sights vs more of a point and shoot where the laser would help.

I've had a set of Trijicon for over12 years and they're still bright.
I've had a set of Meprolite for 6 years and they have been dead for a year or more. (YMMV)

Trijicons are on all my weapons... just installed a pair on my G-36.

I've had a mixed bag with Trijicons. My Beretta came with them, and the 'stuff' that makes them glow fell out? Disolved away? Disappeared? within 6 months of purchase.
The night sights on my new G26 certainly seem nice.

My suggestion, spend the money on range time and ammo.

I like Tru glo hybrid fiber and night sight on my XD I do like alot since its fire bright day or night. Trijicon is also a good sight but keep in mind since they serve LEO and military if you have a warranty issue it will take much longer to resolve. (ask me how I know)

I'm a big fan of Warren Tactical 2-dot night sights. They just about force your eye to the front sight and the white outline makes it super easy to pick up in daylight.
