I have no problem with a jury of my peers, the problem is, I don't consider most of the people to be my peers.

And yes, being stuck in a room with that type of guy sucks. My thing is that I have a hard time being rude to people, so when I am polite and cordial, they think it means I like them and want to listen more, and it is almost impossible to get away.

Looks like Harris County is down to about 45 days or so... a LOT better than the 6 months it was taking last year.

Not by a long shot, Treo. As a minister, my Bible goes with me everywhere and I have served on several juries in Texas, West Virginia and Maryland.

The subject of my Bible never came up.

I feel your pain man. A guy I know is the same way, knows everything about everything. I could call him a friend but that is getting harder every day. He keeps telling me about getting his chl but with his arrest record and a warrant out in his name safe to say I doubt he will get it. Best just to ignore wind-bags like that and feel safe knowing that your better then that.

In reference to the OP, me and my two roommates all carry concealed. One of my roommates feels the need to tell EVERYONE he meets that not only does he carry, but all of us do. Thankfully he doesn't tell complete strangers, but he does tell all of our friends. Some of our friends are die hard 'Sheep' and do NOT need to know that I have a gun on my hip.

While I'm sure that may often be the case, I was specifically selected by a defendant in a murder trial in the first part of last year because of my part-time occupation (Sr High Youth Director at my church). The trial lasted the better part of two weeks; Didn't get paid much but for the most part it was really a good experience.

    Defense lawyer nullification.

perverse as it sounds, I actually don't mind doing Jury Duty. I've got a job that allows me to do my civic part without worrying about lost pay. I consider it my chance to nullify the ' poor misunderstood mama's boy' defense and let bozo realize that he's gotta pay for the wicked he's done.
