Jury Duty.......some people just need to keep their yapper shut
Random post but thought I would share...
Had jury duty today, Harris County...home of the longest CHL wait time ever :) Guy beside me starts talking to this lady....He was a "me monster" for all you Brian Regan fans...
He was an EMT, firefighter, mechanic, yadda yadda yadda. Then starts talking about the death penalty.....and lo and behold he starts talking about how he couldn't give someone who commited a murder while "insane" the death penalty, but if he happened across them in the act, he would drop them "dead in their tracks" because HE had a concealed weapons permit.
Maybe I was just crabby from having to sit in the same room for hours and hours and listen to this guy go on and on about himself.
But during that time I learned many things, such as where he lived, where he worked, where his daughter goes to college, what she does for a living, but most of all, that he carries a gun..
....hmm, good thing I'm a "good guy"....anyway, thought I would share. Feel free to ignore this one :)
But if by chance this "chl holder" is a member of this forum.......you are no longer a CONCEALED permit holder if you tell EVERYONE around you "your little secret"

I seem to get called for jury duty, both state and federal, in Harris County all the time. I am VERY thankful for my iphone with ear plugs so I ignore those kind of folks.

They are everywhere....in a captive environment they are just easier to spot. Congrats on staying an undercover borther.

Never give up a tactical advantage for nothing. Only my wife and sons know I carry.

What a shame... This person is in a very respectable profession but has diarrhea of the mouth to blow it all.

Has Gecko45 resurfaced?
CCW permit holder for Idaho, Utah, Pennsylvania, Maine and New Hampshire. I can carry in your country but not my own.

He said he's an EMT, not "Residential Consumer/Retail Security Force Team Lead Element"

I've only 'avoided' Jury duty by 'managing' to be deployed overseas every time the notice comes for me. I NEVER get the call when I'm home.

It's been my experience that those who bray the loudest have the least. I'm guessing he may not have a permit. Most of the folks who I know who do have permits don't run off at the mouth. Very few people know I have a permit. I don't worry about the folks on this board. There is a good chance that I'll never meet anyone on here, and if I do, I probably wouldn't recognize them, and if I did, the subject of our permits would most likely not come up in the conversation. Guns, yes. Permits, no. With few exceptions, the folks on this board have their permits for the right reasons, and take the responsibility seriously. And I would take that a step further and say the majority of permit holders are that way. If not, I think we'd be reading a lot more stories about unjustified shootings.
