"I want everybody here to look," Arroyo said. "We don't need to be educated."

I beg to differ with her.

Yeah, she's 18. She already knows everything. No education needed there.

to be fair to her, she did grow up in a largely anti-atmosphere, as did i; i can understand where she's coming from. i grew up in the Bronx, and my only association with guns were police and criminals, and i saw from an early age that neither side cared too much about who got shot. i lost enough of my childhood friends to make me belive that guns were the problem, just like her. i shared alot of her same views, until recently, and with any hope, she'll know better when she gets older, as i did.

just don't be too quick to judge her; she's basically a sad kid being used as a pawn to further the goals of the anti-movement in NY.

My sentiments exactly. Which means it's a good idea to start teaching your kids about guns when they are young. It avoids long periods of being misguided.

I could not agree more, That's why she needs the education.

I won't judge her, your right, she is being used by those SOBs who know that the individual who shot her friend probably did not have that weapon legally. Maybe he/she did, but I highly doubt it, but that fact will not be brought out. Yes, but making a legal holder of a gun permit resubmit because it expires or a background check harder would have stopped that kid from illegally having that gun.

I'm just one root in a grassroots organization. No one should assume that I speak for the VCDL.

I am neither an attorney-at-law nor I do play one on television or on the internet. No one should assumes my opinion is legal advice.

The basic assumption of ALL anti's is that bad people will obey the laws. History, common sense and sanity proves they're wrong. Still they persist.

I went to a high school where kids were stabbed and sliced with razor blades, box cutters, and knives. I don't get upset everytime I see someone opening a box with one though.
