Unfortunately the Western Shore of Maryland has completely ruined the State of Maryland where my roots come from over on the Eastern Shore. If it was up to the Eastern Shore I believe we would have two different states of Maryland. The old one over on the Eastern Shore and the new one being Washington DC and its suburbs including Baltimore.

DE has some definite advantages over MD as far as residency goes. IIRC there is no state income tax in DE. In MD you will have your state, county and perhaps city taxes on top of what the feds take. And of course DE is much more gun friendly than MD.

The only way MD is going to change their permitting policies or reciprocity is when the delegates from Montgomery, Prince George, Howard, and Baltimore counties come to think it is the only way they will get re-elected.

I think the consensus here is to not LIVE in MD....commute from MD, DE, or VA....

I was stationed at Ft Meade for a couple of years....and lived in VA...a 180-mile (roundtrip) commute. Why? I liked having the ability to defend myself and my family.

On a more serious note, Maryland should be listed as a "won't issue" state. Permits are rarely issued to ordinary subjects - er, citizens.

I think their (MD.) definition of SHALL ISSUE is different than mine.

OK, I'll weigh in... I lived in Annapolis for a few years; and I liked it. Its a neat town with a lot of history and things to do/see. I actually wouldn't mind going back.
But, for gun rights or free living in general, its a liberal commie pit. Kind of ironic, but it is what it is.

The four most anti-gun counties in the state. Yes, I include Baltimore City in that because it is its own taxing district - in effect a separate county from Baltimore County.

I will refrain from giving my opinion of the respective police departments.
