    A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

    DocGRK

    I'm not sure if you noticed, but DocGRK is supposedly Dr. Gary K. Roberts, who, if you do a Google search IS one of the leading ballistics experts in the country. I know it's the internet but the guy seemed to know what he was talking about.

    wow, that was some good reading..thanks for the warning I only read what the original op lookinforu posted..I have a photo from an old ppt class that I used to use to teach tc3..it has a photo of a Soldier whose face is no longer reconizable, a complete mess, but you could see the opening to his airway, it was unobstructed and he was breathing on his own..so I buy the 12 ga comment...(i no longer use the photo a personal decision out of recpect to the Soldier, he is no longer with us..not due to that wound) As far as the head wounds..yep I have had a few Iraqis in the aid station very much alive (they died later icp and such) but they could have fought...That LEO has seen more than I regarding GSW's but from what I have seen and his notes I buy it ...Maybe he could swing over this way and post it ..99.9% of the folks here are very civil even in dissagreement

    Hmm, appears someone rewrote Deadmeat2's posts;

    Someone called him "Deadmeat" over there, too. Am I to assume that that is the default response to someone challenging the Gospel According to Cooper?

    Thankfully I know nothing about shooting humans, but many of his observations mirror many of mine from decades of hunting all manner of game.

    It was a total witch hunt.

    That thread was full of gold but like real gold mines you have to dig through the silt to get the gold.

    Until I meet a bad guy made of ballistic gelatin I'll trust the original posters observations.

    Ah, so, you didn't read the thread? Seems like there's a lot of that going around...

    Also, if Deadmeat is the author of that "View from a morgue" article, it seems his opinions are almost diametrically opposed to that of Lookin4U... The Morgue author touts the same old dogma: "if it ain't a .45, it'll just make the BG mad" and "the 12 gauge will kill the entire neighborhood if you even think about pointing it in that direction." The observations of Lookin4U - and I admit again that they are still just observations - directly contradict this way of thinking.

    Agfreed OPFOR...His views are pretty much not congruent with anything that morgue guy/Deadmeat had to say and that was _widely_ reported all over the gunfu interwebs at that time.

    I do not at all think this is the same person.

    Accuracy ALWAYS WINS! So carry what you can hit with.

    If you find yourself in a fair fight your tactics stink.

    Nor do I, and that isn't what I said.
