Question for my fellow Floridians, or anyone else =)
I bought my wife tickets to go see The Wizard of Oz at the Florida Times Union Center here in Jacksonville, Florida. This was her Valentine's Day present, and I'm deffinately taking one for the team, as I absolutely HATE Broadway shows/plays/musicals. I was wondering if anyone new of any issues carrying into the Center? It is in downtown Jacksonville, and if anyone knows about Jacksonville.....it's not the best place to be walking around late at night, and I really want to have my pistola with me. I looked up all my info on concealing weapons again, and checked out Handgunlaw.us, and I don't see anything that should restrict me from doing so. But I thought I would run it by all you fine people here at DC, and ask for your help and infinite wisdom on the subject.
I included what handgunlaw.us has listed as places off limits to carry in Florida.

district;

member of such college or university and the weapon is a stun gun or non-lethal electric weapon or
device designed solely for defensive purposes and the weapon does not fire a dart or projectile;

prohibited from carrying any legal firearm into the terminal, which firearm is encased for shipment
for purposes of checking such firearm as baggage to be lawfully transported on any aircraft; or

I don't believe it is illegal to carry there but if they give you the:
Full Search
A Full search consists of the following: the guest being asked to open any coat, bag or container and also being physically patted down or screened with a metal detector. If contraband is detected, the guest will be asked to dispose of such item(s) prior to entering the building. Guest may be detained if the item(s) discovered is of an illegal nature.

Really? When were you there? What were you there for? Was it a play or another event? Do they walk you through metal detectors or is there like 2 lines....one for people with bags, one for people without?

All they can do (assuming they find it) is ask you to dispose of the gun or to leave the premises, per the law in FL. If you don't do that, then they can call the police for trespassing.

Signs carry no weight in Florida. As long as you are following the law on where to carry the only thing the theater could do would be to ask you to leave.
That said I can't see them doing pat downs for The Wizard of Oz.
Just don't make it real obvious you're carrying. ;)

Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.

if i remember correctly the flying mokeys wear leather vests...so the 45lc round may be more effective than the buckshot unless youre going for the head shot....
