    St. Louis Questions

Wife and I are going to STL this weekend, eat on The Hill and going to The Fox. Been there a bunch of times, prior to CCW days and don't have a clue what to expect.

    Thanks!

Can't go wrong eating on the hill. Great Italian food. Went during the day and it seemed good. But has been about 7 years ago.

Oh, I know the food is good and The Fox will be cool, I'm asking if they are "Gun Free Zones" or not.

As I understand MO law, private businesses can post, but you don't have to honor the signage unless they ask you to leave....

I haven't carried to the Fox yet, but I'd bet it has a sign. On the other hand, there's no way in hell post-CCW permit that I'd walk in that neighborhood without my gun. I've never seen them check anyone or anything, either. Way too uppity for that.

My read on it is that the signs do have the weight of the law, but all they can ask you to do is leave. You do risk a fine if you refuse, but it is not considered a criminal act.

See the last paragraph of this.............

Section 571-107 Endorsement does not authorize conceale

CCW permit holder for Idaho, Utah, Pennsylvania, Maine and New Hampshire. I can carry in your country but not my own.

That's true. And my instructor (a PO) said only once has a trespassing ticket been given to a CCW permit holder who wouldn't leave.

Only places I've thus far ignored were ones with inadequate signs and when the person I was with didn't know, and I thought disarming would give me away. But I'd absolutely ignore a sign at the Fox given the neighborhood its in.

I took my wife to the Fox theater to see the phantom of the opera. It was fantastic and yes I was carrying...and yes there was signs on the doors. I simply ignored them and went on about our business. I even walked past ten SLPD officers who waved at me and actually said hello.

Concealed is concealed...oh and we parked in a vacant lot with a dark alley next to it. Paid 10 dollars to park and the car was still there when we got to it, but it was like my head was possessed.

Go and enjoy...go and carry concealed.

Just do a good job of concealing.

I see on here a lot of people that say they won't spend money at any business that puts up a no ccw sign up. I think in a lot of cases they don't really care if you carry or not, the sign is just there to keep them out of trouble if you use your weapon. If they have a sign up they can prove they didn't allow any weapons on their property, but the absence of a sign could mean they approved of patrons carrying weapons and they might have some liability issues if you shot someone. It would really change their legal position in a court case. JMHO
