    I went on a cruise about 8 years ago. It was the only (I think) no smoking ship. I forget the name, but from what my family and my aunt, whom happened to be the travel agent that booked my family, said they went through the luggage looking for smokes and what not. A friend of mine bought a hand carved lighter in Jamaica, and had it "confiscated*" by the ship.

    I'm sure its in the fine print somewhere, but they may swipe knives and other defense tools. BTW: bring LOTS of batteries for your camera, that is if its not rechargeable. Batteries out of the country are about a bajillion dollars.

    * see: Taken out of the wooden box it was in, wrapped in a t-shirt, in his suitcase, without him being told till he complained about stuff missing.
