TN HCP's up 23%!
Some good news: TN HCP holders now number 268,711 - up 23% in one year! And the previous year, 2008, saw an increase of 14%. Of the state population of elegible age to apply for an HCP, 6% are HCP holders.
The Shelby County increase was 15% in 2008 and 16% in 2009.
Community Criminology & Research professor Richard Janikowski, says Violent crime in Memphis is down 9% from 2008 to 2009 and by about 15% since 2006.
This relates to a previous thread. Keeping and bearing arms - more than a right - it works.
Americans understood the right of self-preservation as permitting a citizen to repel force by force
when the intervention of society... may be too late to prevent an injury.

I can believe it. The guy who runs the shop I frequent is making a killing every other Saturday when he hosts the class. There's never any parking there from 8am til 1pm.
Edit - Just realized something, there were 39 people in that last class he told me. He charges $60 a head, so he made $2,340 for 8 hours worth of work last Saturday!
Profitable business indeed.

Hopefully Nashville will send my certificate and materials soon so I can start capitalizing too.
The preceding post may contain sarcasm; it's just better that way. However, it is still intended with construction and with the Love of my L-rd Y'shua.

I saw this today on the front page of the paper. I didn't get to read it because I refuse to buy the Memphis rag after it published a list of permit holders last year complete with addresses.
But any time the percentage of permit holders goes up by this much, it means more people are understanding the problem and the solution! Sadly, the number of permit holders in Shelby County will drop by 2 in a few weeks when we move to Atlanta but I think the increase will more than make up for our vacancy.

Great, didn't know it was that high. Last stats I knew of (4 years ago) showed at just over 3%.

Kansas applications increased 32% in 2009 over 2008 and is approaching 1% of the total population.
Why such a low number ?
1) There are only three areas were the population is greater than 100,000: Topeka [150,000], Wichita [450,000] and metro Kansas City Kansas area [650,000].
2) Conceal Carry has only been legal for 3 1/2 years.
3) A 4-year license costs $150.
4) Kansas has always been an Open Carry state.
5) 90% of the state is rural were 99% of the homes and farms have a shotgun, rifle or handgun.

We had a bunch of libs in OR try that last year as well. Luckily our local sheriff fought them off.
