Get a Pure Kustom. These are awsome for the 1911 and are fully adjustable to meet your individual needs! I carry a fullsize XDm in one all day long and never have a problem. Best craftsmanship on the market today, fast turn around, outstanding art work, and with its conversion from IWB to OWB, its two holsters in one! Check it out, I promise you, this is where you problems end.

IWB...MTAC or Black Ops by Pure Kustom at 3 or 3:30. 3 o'clock works best for me when wearing a tucked shirt or when accidental contact is more possible. Both are great for all day carry. Good Luck

All stainless government 1911 IWB 3:30 in a Milt Sparks VM2 with a beltman belt, conceals slightly better than my FS M&P and my back feels fine, even after all day. I couldn't go with any lower ride holster or a longer barreled weapon because, when seated, the muzzle is just barely short enough to avoid pressing against whatever I'm sitting on. BTW I'm 5'11" 160 if that helps, your body type and dress can really affect how well you can conceal, I usually wear an overshirt but I conceal fine under just a T-shirt. With a weightier firearm, I've found it helps to carry a reload on the opposite hip to balance things out a bit, plus there are other reasons for having a couple of extra mags.

After trying many, I carry mine at 3:00 in a IWB Burton by 5 Shot Leather.....one great holster and it allows me to only wear a T-shirt to cover it up. The best I've found and the only IWB holster you'll ever need IMO.
Never tried the Super tuck............just seems like way too much leather material for me and those double hooks...........Nah.

I carry one 80% of the time between 3 & 3:30, I have a (I'll use the term) cheap (though I prefer cost effective) tuckable IWB holster and also a cost effective thick and sturdy belt. I'm 6' 205 and I wear my shirt tucked in mostly but also untcked and have no problem, I do wear polo shirts 99% of the time when I leave the house. The cant does help.

Yes, forward cant helps a lot. Here's a pic I posted in another thread that shows my Ultra CDP II carry. It's not a full size, but you can see how a good holster and forward cant tuck the grip up into you for concealment. I carry IWB at 4:00 in a HBE Com III.

Full size 1911, Sparks VM-II, Perry suspenders, covered by camp style shirt....square bottom; meant to be worn untucked. Suspenders allow much looser belt; in my case...much more comfortable. Patterned shirts; not solid color. Not Hawaiian, just patterned. Helps break up any discernable printing.

    I won.

I carry a Sig Sauer P220 Carry in a Blackhawk Serpa CQC leather pancake holster. The Carry size P220 is like a Commander size 1911, but the holster is built for a full size P220 - it'd conceal the same. I use a untucked T-shirt and an unbuttoned dress shirt for cover. Never been made. It will hide under just a T-shirt, with a slight print. The print doesn't scream 'GUN!', but an astute observer will know something is there. A

It's a Comptac C-TAC. It's the only holster I've had for all my carry guns.
