I did not intend on it being inflammatory...... only to open the eyes of the people who share many beliefs as a whole with the antis. My problem is the spin machine of the main stream media. To many moms or young impressionable minds that share so many other political beliefs with Liberals or progressives that might not really understand that this story is one sided and incomplete. Will take it as CC is bad and dangerous. And the pro CC people that are left of center needs too defend our rights to their friends. I can tell you they will respect their argument much more than my redneck, southern, hillbilly, right wing, animal killing, flag waving, self.
You may not like guns. You may choose not to own one. That is your right.
You might not believe in God. That is your choice.
However, if someone breaks into your home at 3AM the first two things you are going to do are:
    1) Call someone with a gun.
2)Pray they get there in time." - A wise man

In FL alone there are over 600,000 CWFL holders.

My math comes up with a .0002316 percentage.

Wonder how that compares to Driver's License holders?

    Sugarmann's an Idiot

I can't believe the delusional buffoon didn't headline it as "MURDERS'"

    in place of "killings"

Did I mention that Sugarmann's an idiot?

Not sure if this thought is at all relevant or pertinent, but you just made me think this article could just as easily have been written (by the same guy, same methods, just as "valid" interpretations of the data) about x number of deaths in vehicular accidents being the result of actions by folks who are legally licensed to operate a motor vehicle.

    Just a thought.

Folks, bear in mind that I think it's blown way out of proportion. And I think the % of killings compared to the # of CCP holders would be very small. In the 1% or less range.

But NONE of the killings they have listed were even close to being justified. Look through some of them. When the number was 79 or so I read through all of them. Some have nothing to do with a CCP, some of them should have had theirs revoked or never issued. But none are defensive shootings as far as I saw.

Wonder how they feel about Gary Klecks assertion that there are 2 million defensive uses of a firearm every year?

Pretty sad when the article is posted on an anti website and gets taken apart by the replies. I have a feeling it'll be removed pretty soon......

Personally, if I see an article that might be interesting, and find that it's in the Huffington Compost, I just pass on it.

Author of that dribble Josh Sugarmann holds a FFL. Check him out on the 'net.

    I did.

When you look at his writings and his background, he is a paradox.

His FFL was revoked after others protested that he was not actually in the firearms business. His stated reason for having the FFL was to get information from manufacturers.

And just as important, how many lives were saved because there was an armed citizen able to respond to a threat.

I'm sure if you took the average number of incidents reported in the NRA's "Armed Citizen" column per month over the same time period it would more than triple the number of deaths from CPL holders.
