CC update - long over-due (pic heavy)

Well, it's been too long since I've updated everyone on my carrying lifestyle, so I thought I would fill you guys in.

I got my XDM after the 2008 election results, and have been carrying since about Dec 2008. I promptly got a Crossbreed Supertuck and loved it.
I gleaned tons of helpful information from this forum, kept learning, practicing, and researching.

Well, here's my gear, and how I carry it.

First, the Crossbreed.

I carry around 8:30 or 9, slight forward cant. Ammo is Pow'rBall 9mm, my winter ammo. I've heard good and bad about it, but for now that's what I have.

My EDC knife is a CRKT M16-13LE. Holds a pretty decent edge, great handle, good weight. It's no Spyderco or Benchmade, but I like it and it's what I could afford at the time.
The light is a Quartz 123², regular head with a momentary on/off cap (I initially bought the tactical head, but it was awkward, so they sent me a regular one). Super bright! I love this thing! Use it every day for random stuff. I didn't think I would use it very often, but many here said to get a good light as part of an EDC system. Good advice!

Here's my SmartCarry. Definitely my favorite and most versatile holster, I wear this to work (grocery store, lots of physical activity), church, everywhere. It is awesome, and to those who are uneasy with this system, give it a try before you knock it.

For those familiar with the SmartCarry, you might be wondering "Isn't that gun on the wrong side?"
Technically, it's on the right side :wink: I can carry the extra magazine no problem, just some bunched up fabric in the bottom of the pocket so it sticks up a bit.

Here's the deal: If I wear the gun on the left side, it sticks out like a sore thumb, making this noticeable bump on my left pocket side.

So my idea was to stick it in the right side, then the butt of the gun rests right under my belt buckle.

Disappears pretty well, if you ask me. No one has ever noticed it, except the wife, but we won't go into details here! :ahhhhh:
(the hole is from the rear sight. bummer, but a shirt usually covers it.)

Even though I carry different ammo, Pow'rBall seems to get pretty decent reviews in the (very limited) research I have done, and the bullet design that assists in reliable feeding of semi-autos is nice:

And at least they don't seem to act like the Glazer Safety Slugs, and don't virtually explode before they reach the vitals, leaving the BG PO'ed off, but still in the fight.

Pow'rBalls also seem to be affordable enough that you can run some rounds through your piece without having to put your wife and kids in hock.

I just don't have room down there (smart carry) for any gear......:wink:

Nice set up but that sits a little to close to the kings jewells for me. Can you sit properly without pinching? Appreciate the pix.

My edc knife is an m16-13z, I like it more then every benchmade ive ever owned, since it hasn't broken yet. Nice set up.

I would say that you have all of the bases well covered, nice layout!

I'm another happy SmartCarry owner and user. I love mine. I do not carry in it very often but when I do, it is never noticed by anyone. It is a great system.

Looks like you have a pretty good CC system going there between the SmartCarry and the IWB. Nice gun too. I'd like to have one of those XDm's myself.

I also use a Smart Carry and a Crossbreed set-up. I have a Kershaw knife. I use the XDm for winter carry and a FEG PA 63 in the summer. I also use a Smart Carry for the FEG and I can do any activity and I sometimes forget it's there.

Add one more to the Smartcarry customer list. During the warm summer months here in Vegas I carry my G26 in my SC holster plus a spare magazine. It works great!

I'll never regret buying this whatsoever.

Not gonna lie, I laughed for a few minutes on that one! I'm gonna have to use that quote sometime.

sitting is very easy, no pinching. I work in a meat department, and we do a lot of running, squatting, stepping, kneeling. All are very easy and the gun never inhibits movement.

I was a little hesitant about the jewels as well. After thinking about it though, we all (should) know that guns don't just "go off", so that relieved some anxiety there. Also the fact that there is a 60 day trial period made it a pretty easy decision on my part.
