Well, I was thinking the same thing. At what point does it stop becoming a misunderstanding/accident and become a criminal act? When a court many years later decides that the government representative/entity was unjustified and criminal in their actions? I understand that people make mistakes, but when it's a mistake that can cost you your life, then what?
BTW, no, I don't think these guys made a mistake. For Christ's sake, they shot a severely handicapped man in the back what six or seven times . . . ? The impression I got is that these guys went on a hunt . . . for man.

Thomas Jefferson's got my sentiments on the matter, if it was to.
Very sad situation indeed.

The sad thing is there was real crime elsewhere, and what were the LEO's doing? Harrasing the law abiding. If you refused to surrender or come out, they'd waste resources and surround your house until you surrendered... and for what? A few guns that where legally owned?
Meanwhile there were looters in the streets unchecked
