Florida does not honor any other states' non-resident permits (I would assume because they issue a non-res permit themselves and want the revenue).

Few other states are quite as picky.

A UT Non-Res will also be accepted in WA as far as I remember when I got mine.

VA honors WA permits (at least resident permits) but there is no reciprocity agreement.

    Question on Washington...

Per Hangunlaw.us, it appears that Washington and Florida agree on the following:

    • Can carry in a rest stop.
    • Can carry in a restaurant, but not in the bar.
    • Can carry while eating and drinking with meals.

One difference, can carry in the airport terminal - if not posted. Can not carry inside the airport terminals here.

One useful question not answered - do you need to notify the LEO when stopped?

This would be unusual if WA won't honor FL non-res permits; it seems every other state as a rule either accepts reciprocal non-res permits across the board or doesn't accept any(except for state residents trying to carry on another state permit), not this idea of we accept x's non-res permits but not y's. The WA folks may want to write to the AG to try to make sure WA accepts ALL FL permits. Since this is through a reciprocity agreement, the WA AG should be able to take care of this easily;they shouldn't need any additional legislation passed. Hopefully they do because my home state of WV is working hard for universal reciprocity but WA's fingerprint requirement is a huge stumbling block so the FL permit fills in the gap.
FL's law is already established not recognizing non-res permits(outside their own of course), so they'd probably need legislation to allow other state's non-res permits.

Some of the craziest gun crime related stories have been coming from WA recently though (Sea-Tac area). No doubt, FL is no picnic when it comes to crazies however!

    GHFLRLTD,

At the top of each state page at Handgunlaw.us it states "Must Inform Officer;" then it says YES or NO out from that. That is one piece of info everyone needs to know who is traveling outside their state.

    Thanks, Gary

Glad to learn of the new agreement on reciprocity.

Too bad Nevada dropped FLorida, though.

    Probably over some silly disagreement.

Just giving you guys a hard time The FL crime rate is twice of WA's though (4th highest in the country) but the Tacompton area's (Tacoma, where all these recent shootings have happened) crime rate is equal to Miami's.. Either way, it would be wise to be armed in both cities
