The most idiotic arguments against carry ever.

    Guns, teachers, and self-defense
I AM a math teacher at Brockton High School, the site of a school shooting earlier this month.

Current school security procedures lock down school populations in the event of armed assault. Some advocate abandoning this practice as it holds everyone in place, allowing a shooter easily to find victims.

An alternative to lockdown is immediate exodus via announcement. Although this removes potential hostages and makes it nearly impossible for the shooter to acquire preselected targets, it unfairly rewards resourceful children who move to safety off-site more shrewdly and efficiently than others.

Schools should level playing fields, not intrinsically reward those more resourceful. A level barrel is fair to all fish.

Some propose overturning laws that made schools gun-free zones even for teachers who may be licensed to securely carry concealed firearms elsewhere. They argue that barring licensed-carry only ensures a defenseless, target-rich environment.

But as a progressive, I would sooner lay my child to rest than succumb to the belief that the use of a gun for self-defense is somehow not in itself a gun crime.

I believe that that was debunked as untrue....satire or such.

It's hard to tell- someone could in fact be that stupid and express it so eloquently.

Here's your sign of supreme idiocy. The statement saying allowing kids to escape unfairly rewards kids who are smart enough to escape.....hmmmm...rewards them with life. Sounds like the natural progression of survival of the fittest. So this person would rather punish the resourceful kids by making everyone equal targets? That makes no sense. And that schools should level the playing field and not reward those more resourceful....isn't that the intent of the school grading system? Otherwise, everyone gets a C regardless of abilities because they should all aspire to be average.

As for the idiot that states he would rather lay his kid to rest than accept using a gun for SD as not a crime....that's his idiotic choice and it shouldn't be forced on the rest of us.

    Just my $0.02 worth.

I thought that this argument was shown to be satirical, but if not it is beyond ridiculous.

Sounds like it could have come straight from the mouth of some of the teachers that I unfortunately had the pleasure of dealing with wile my kids where going through the public school system. And I live in Montana.

I can see it as possible. There are a lot of strange people out there.

I have a friend who insists he couldn't shoot a BG that was attacking him as it just wouldn't be right. He did think he could do it if a BG was attacking one of his children. Of course he doesn't own a gun so the point is kinda mute.

    As a Husband and Father

As a husband and father this is truly unfathomable to me. My family is more precious to me than my own life, the only thing that come to mind is, “This I will defend!”

This point is thus quiet, "mute", and it may be but you mean "moot"!

You can carry your gun to the school my children attend and in fact we will teach shooting as an elective. +1 on the homeschooling!

Gotta be satire... Someone who says that about their kid would not successfully breed in the first place.

Satire or not, that is ridiculous in the extreme.
