Politicians are no better than we are! HELP!!
C&P from GrassRoots SC
Friends,
GrassRoots will be issuing an Action Alert later today. It is CRUCIAL
that you get everyone you know to respond ASAP.
The politicians at the statehouse understand that virtually all of the
CWP prohibited carry locations in SC are stupid and contrary to better
public safety. BUT, these politicians are not willing to get rid of
the prohibited carry locations for you and me. Instead, on Wednesday
morning, the politicians will be considering a bill to allow members
of the General Assembly who possess a CWP to carry EVERYWHERE in SC
with NO restrictions of any kind!
Politicians are no better than we are!
Their lives are NOT more important than my life, your life, or the
lives of our families!
We need to send a very LOUD and LARGE message that special privileges
for politicians is WRONG!
PLEASE be sure to respond to the GrassRoots GunRights Action Alert so
that we can either amend this bill to include ALL CWP holders or kill
this special privileges for politicians bill.
The subcommittee will also be considering another bill to allow
possession of firearms in private vehicles - which GrassRoots
supports. So, if you respond to the GrassRoots Action Alert, we will
be able to kill two birds with one stone.
Our rights depend upon your taking action when we need you to take
action. One drop of rain is relatively insignificant. But, trillions
of drops of rain can cause a flash flood.
We need to shut down the switchboard at the House and overload the email system.

I do not know if you really are aware of what you are talking about. You are talking about a type of DoS attack (denial-of-service attack), which is normally used to make a computer resource unavailable to the other users. THAT IS ILLEGAL. I recommend you to completely forget the idea, and to do not write about those topics in this forum.

They are talking about getting so many people to call in that all the lines are tied up. They are not talking about one person making 10000 calls on 50 lines. If you think that organizing a response of people calling their legislator is illegal, you certainly aren't living in the same country I am.

DoS is an attack performed by a single user, DDoS (distributed denial-of-service attack) is one in which several systems attack a single target. Normally, in a DDoS first attack a vulnerable computer system and uses it a DDoS master. However, even when several “organized users” attack a computer resource in order to make it unavailable to other users it is technically a DDoS too.

OK I get your point and; in and of itself, you are correct. We want SC folks to call and email their desires to their representatives. As happens so often, it can be a jamming seccession. But maybe that is a mis-spoken event in it's self. We want the politicians to get the point by hearing from all their voters and there simplily is nothing wrong with that!
They are NOT any better than any one one of us here. Jamming the services is just a word phase really. Real jamming would not serve our purpose at all. We want to swam them in replies expressing our disbelief in the bill and their behavior.
Thanks for pointing that out.

H8SPVMT.........I think most people here know what you're talking about. Jammimg the lines is not the purpose but just letting them know how we feel. I agree....we need to let them know and believe me I have already wrote them an email tonight.

No problem.
I totally agree with you; politicians are not better than any other, and if they are even considering doing something like that it really is a shame. You are totally right, people should email or call them to express their disbelief in the bill. I am sorry that you people in SC have to experience something so pathetic like that!
