I'd like to know your thoughts... I'm volunteering to pass out mini-constitutions and encourage others to get involved with my personal right wing tea party at a local gun show. Just got a email informing me there is no cc allowed at the gun show.

So, you can probably carry them openly, like those dealers and swappers do while they are talking and walking and looking and making deals and trades.
Thats crazy...No CC
"Lastly and VERY IMPORTANTLY, NO LOADED GUNS!!!!!! If you've got a concealed weapons permit, the same applies. NO LOADED GUNS in the building. If you want to bring your gun, check it at the front door. They will assist you with unloading it and clipping a tie around it to prove it has been unloaded properly and checked. There is a Sheriff Deputy at the door at all times waiting to assist you. If we have ANYONE with a loaded gun we will be escorted out and never allowed to have a booth there again. We HAVE to obey the rules. I carry a loaded gun at all times, BUT I left it in the truck during my shift. "
All of the gun shows I have been to and seen ads for prohibit carrying loaded weapons of any type into the show. Usually you have to check them at the door and they put a ziptie thru the slide or bolt. I have seens many carry in this way if they are trying to sell them on their own. Some even put signs on their back stating what they have for sale. I believe the reason for no loaded weapons has to do with accidents when someone picks up a gun and racks the slide and pulls the trigger. There have been accidents before like this.
I never understood this. Why?
Emrah
@cardinalfan, I agree with the safety issue. There will be a deputy at the door at all times. It just seems kind of illogical that you can't cc at a gun show. I will abide by the laws. I'll be on the bike so I will not even carry my pistol from the house. First time in years...
Bottom line it is HYPOCRISY.
I don't know what gun shows are like arround there but with the ones I go to a miss stands a 99.99999% chance of hitting someone else. If it's a Ft. Hood II situation someone can clip a zip tie and get a gun into action quickly. If it's anything les let the LEO's take care of it.
We have second amendment rights... except at gun shows, federal buildings, courthouses, Post offices, school zones (how many school zones you drive through today?). etc. etc.
I've solved the CC carry at all gun shows...I quit going about 6-7 years ago...no more overpriced guns, ammo...:nono:, although I do miss those nice CCW badges.:image035:
As I stated, I will abide by the wishes of the coordinator. I don't feel there is a security issue. There will be a deputy at the entrance. Probably is an insurance issue. I will go and have a good time and get to meet a lot of new people. Come by and get a free pocket Constitution. I'll leave my attitude about no cc at the door.
