It means that the info has been verified and that packing.org is confident that the info is correct.

I don't think there's a key there that explains it, so I presume we take it for what it means...they are "highly confident" that what they stated is correct. Then, we as readers make our decisions based on that degree of certainty on the issue. Seems that simple to me.

I guess it's also legally less open to comebacks if in fact there was an error - sorta like saying ''info given in good faith''.

If they didn't then I'd be sure someone would get into trouble and throw their problem back on Packing - in this litigious society we all know and love - some folks will try anything!

I think Chris nailed it. They are a pretty darned reputable site....but I would assume that disclaimers like that keep them out of trouble in case of law changes, special circumstances, etc.

I did mean to add - some folks are suggesting Packing is not totally up to date as it once was - and a fairly new member here has a site running which by all accounts is as good or better. I certainly liked what I saw.

Apologies to him as I forget his name right now - ahh I know, Gary Slider (phew!)- the URL is http://www.handgunlaw.us/ well worth a visit.

Thumbs up Yes, Ditto: & Thanks Folks!

    Ditto Chris & the others.

Completely forgot the previous post that we had stating that packing.org is no longer being perfectly maintained.

Absolutely, go with the better informational site.

That's a shame because packing.org used to be the "on line" Bible for State Cary Law & LTC information.

I guess I am so used to suggesting packing.org as a habit.

I will remember that handgunlaw is the new place to go for up to date carry info.

If it's legally oriented, it's definitely the secondary layer of protection--when you enter their site and select a state you then click on the primary disclaimer that protects them.

I still see the saying as simply saying they are nearly certain that the specific information holding that label is correct, as simple as that.

Not attempting to hijack this thread, but I find it remarkable that one can actually logon to PDO. Seems the server is down more than its up.

I decided the other night to develop my own site since packing.org has been having so many troubles lately, and Mark has been completely ignoring any and all emails (and it's his site, his right to ignore it if he wants -- I just think it's a shame and wish he'd take 5 minutes to post a message and say whether he's going to let it self destruct or not.) I've been wanting to take a crack at a firearms related website for awhile now, and it seems now is as good a time as any.

handgunlaw.us is good for state law information, but there is more going on at packing.org that I feel is still valuable, like the 'talk' section... granted it has strayed as of late (too many 'I hate the ratings!' posts) but generally has good topical postings. In all, PDO is (was?) a great all-around resource that just needs some attention.
