I agree, gun crimes should be severly punished..... we have to get illegal guns off the street.

Now, how do you do this and not take away everyone's constitutional rights. I think we have proved all this does is ensure citizens are not armed and criminals remain armed.

Sigh..... preaching to the choir I guess.

Man, glad I live in Texas!

This is the clown that had an active aircraft runway bulldozed with out telling the FAA or anyone else. Actually I am sorry for calling him a clown it degrades clowns unfairly.

10 years ago when I lived in the area Cook County had SEVENTY THOUSAND OUTSTANDING FELONY WARRANTS. You don't need more laws, or make it a crime to be a gangbanger, you need to track down this scum and lock them up. A local news channel looked at some of these warrants, went to the address of the person AND INTERVIEWED THEM FOR THE 6 O'CLOCK NEWS.

He is the CHIEF IDIOT of the antis...
You may not like guns. You may choose not to own one. That is your right.
You might not believe in God. That is your choice.
However, if someone breaks into your home at 3AM the first two things you are going to do are:
    1) Call someone with a gun.
2)Pray they get there in time." - A wise man

    +1

I liked that field, it was a good General Aviation airport.

He's proposing more gun laws for votes playing on people's emotions IMHO.

What do you think the odds are that Mayor Daley has a firearm or his bodyguards have firearms--hypocrite that he is.

Daley backed changes to state law that would require background checks for those buying a gun in a private sale, ban assault weapons, require that gun dealers be licensed and limit the number of handgun purchases to one per person per month.
What Daley and other anti-gun proponents cannot explain is why such measures have utterly failed everywhere they have been implemented elsewhere. Criminals continued to acquire firearms. The only people inconvenienced and burdened with extra costs, delays and inability to acquire arms were the upstanding citizens.

When Daley explains how that can be, then he might have something to say about the viability of such proposals. Until then, he's simply whistling extremely hot air out of a terribly tight orifice.

The criminals are the ones that keep electing him.

Now, that's an explanation that begins to make sense. Wouldn't surprise me.

But Al's ghost has gone to roost inside Daley. Thats how the criminals stayed armed for 12 years and the citizens stayed disarmed.
Remember big Al died of Syphilis hrmmm is it any wonder Daley acts the way he does?

He stays in power because the south side will vote for anyone who is a democrat, and the near north rich republicans vote for him because he keeps the folks from the south side away from the rich areas. Yes, he profiles (or at least the police do.)

It's not much different from the Al Capone days.

More feel good laws that don't do anything to stop criminals from using guns...
