    CABELAS Problem, Advice?

Ordered Federal Hydra-shoks from there a week or two back, they were supposed to ship mid April. Well they called and said now it's going to take until the middle of May, or I could cancel and in replacement they offered Golden Sabers.
I turned down those and cancled my hydra shok order.

After ordering I ended up not wanting Hydra-shoks, so it kind of worked out. I want the Speer Gold Dots 230g JHP.
Problem is, cabelas only sell FMJ,not JHP's.

    Cabela's -- Speer Gold Dot® Pistol Ammunition

Anyone know of a website that I can order Speers Gold Dots 230g JHP?

I did ask Cabelas to make sure, and they do NOT sell JHP's in gold dots.

Oh, forgot to mention, I need them for .45ACP

I did a quick search of Ammo to Go and Midway, both out of stock.

Huh? Those look like JHP to me. There is no Gold Dot FMJ that I'm aware of.

That's strange....I just bought a couple of boxes of Speer Gold Dot 230gr JHP's from Cabela's last week. Of course that was in-store and not on-line. So I know as a business they DO carry the Gold Dot JHP's.

That's what I said, but I've called twice and spoke with a manager, they keep telling me they do not sell Gold Dots in JHP.

Maybe they are all gun stupid, but it's Cabelas...

You should have taken the Golden Sabers. You (or your target) will never know the difference over Gold Dots.

BTW Gold Dots ARE JHPs and yes, Cabela's DOES sell them, as your link plainly shows.

Have you looked for ammo at your local gun store? Every store in 50 miles of me has them on the shelf. If they don't have Gold Dots, buy whatever SD ammo they have and try it. There are no magic bullets; one SD bullet will kill someone just as well as another, if you place the shot correctly.

The 230 grains was pretty much a giveaway!
Try a gunstore. They seem to have what onliners don't.

Called Cabelas a third time after shift changes, apparently the fellas I spoke with just didn't care, or simply didn't know...they do have them in stock.

I even told the one person I spoke with the 1st and 2nd time "your website says and shows you sell speer gold dots in jhp, and I've spoken with people that just ordered them" and the answer I got back was "sorry sir, all we have are fmj gold dots".
Eh, whatever....I'm picking them up Friday.

And to majorlk, I only have 1 gun store in my area (my area meaning within 4-6 hours driving distance). So I'm either cut to that place with horrible grump owners, or bass pro/cabelas.
