    12ga. pump, # 71/2 shot or better.

there is no such handgun ammo, anything that dont penetrate walls will be marginal @ best for stopping a BG.

The OP asked for the best 9mm, not shotgun.

I will assume he is asking for the best 9mm round, and not best 9mm Pistol.

The best defensive round is one that feeds, and fires reliably and shoots the most accurately from your pistol.

Other than that the rest is icing, I would go with a name brand ammo maker. I personally use 124gr Gold Dots, but that might not be the best for you and your pistol

Wife and I both use our CC guns as our first line home defense gun, backed up by 12 gauge 870 with 00 buck shot, ready to go.

Our Kel Tec P3AT go every where we go and the same is true at home and on bed side stand.

The 380HP ammo is plenty at close ranges inside a home and not a bad over penetrating to endanger the neighbors.

The guns we carry daily and shoot the most is the gun we trust for home defense.

My recommendation? CZ-95 PCR Compact 9mm. Reliable, well balanced and great all-around pistol.

I use the Buffalo Bore 9mm +P+ 124 grain JHP ammunition. This one uses a flash suppressed gun powder for use in low light situations. This load is rated at around 1300 FPS and 461 FPE.
    God bless our troops!

    Kel-tec sub-2000....loaded with hollowpoints in a 30 round magazine.
You may not like guns. You may choose not to own one. That is your right.
You might not believe in God. That is your choice.

    best # of rounds

Buffalo Bore 9mm +P+ 124 grain JHP in a SR9 x 18 rounds = 18 holes=2,232 grains of HURT. I think that will stop em. If not use the 2nd mag. OR any other HI CAP 9MM.
