I am now coming along to this train of thought. I traded two .40 handguns a year or so ago to go deep in 9mm. After going into Walmart at least 5 times a week for the past 8 months I see .40 available almost every day but only pick up 9mm once every two weeks. After one more 9mm gun purchase I think I am going to start adding .40's again as ammo just seams more available.

^ CMR, that's one heck of a list. Even the .400 Corbon. What, no 10ga shotgun?

I'm getting into the "what I have is enough caliber wise" mind set myself lately. I just sold a 32 H&R Mag kinda based on that thought, I didn't shoot it much, and just decided to replace it with a Ruger MarkII.

    My current list:
    177 pellets
    22lr
    25acp
    380acp
9mm (Yes, I did break down and buy one)
    38Special
    38Super
    357Magnum
    357Sig
    40S&W
    45acp
    45Colt
    223/5.56mm
    7.62x39mm
    243
    270
    7mm Rem Mag
    30-30Win
    300WSM
    375H&H Mag
    50 Blackpowder
    12g
    20g

    I recently removed 32H&R Mag, 17HMR, 6.8spc, and 270WSM from the list.
I have several guns for some calibers, like the 22lr, 40S&W, 38s, 357Mag, and 270Win, and may add more guns, but not many more calibers probably. I am going to add 44Mag, and possibly 41Mag, to the list shortly.

As for the safe getting full, just do what I did, and buy another safe, and then buy a third safe just for pistols and revolvers.
My heroes are Veterans and My Father (who was a veteran).

I believe prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance should have REMAINED in schools, and the Ten Commandments should have REMAINED in schools, courthouses, and everywhere else it was before the ACLU got involved.

I actually had more but had to clean out. Can only keep one gun safe and not two.
Yup, got a .400 Corbon for one of my 1911's. Its pretty kewl.
No, no 10ga shotgun....not yet. If I get into turkey and goose hunting more then maybe.
Oh and about 90% of those listed I reload for also.

I wouldn't mind adding to the list...I'd like to get a .338 Win Mag and if I ever go to Africa, a .458 Lott for cape buffalo.

Man! I thought I had it bad, with a diverse ammo need. I don't even come close to some of you .

I would actually prefer to keep my ammo needs more simple than I have:

    .22lr
    .223
    .30-30
    .30'06
    .380
    9mm
    .45 ACP
    .40 S&W
    12 gauge.

I was intending to keep only 9mm and .45 ACP for defensive pistol purposes, but that didn't work Now I have what you see above.
