I keep my ammo stash really simple:

.22 Cal- for conversion kits for 5.56 and .45

.45 Cal, in about 8-10 different flavors, ranging form 185 HB for target to 230+P dorbon DX for EDC

5.56 in 3 weights and bullet configurations.

If that don't stop "them" there's always surrender 'NOT'

    Bruce

BTW, there's always a good supply of rocks around here (I live in ROCKLAND County)

    2. .380 for my TCP and my wife's Bersa Thunder
    3. 9mm for my EDC, both FMJ and JHP
    4. .38sp for plinking with the revolver
    5. .357 mag for defense loads in the revolver
    6. .40 for the first carry gun I owned, both FMJ and JHP
    7. .45 for the new 1911
    8. .223 for the EBR
    9. 7mm Rem Mag for the elk rifle
    10. 12ga for the HD shotgun and the turkey gun
    ...

...Do you guys find yourself in the same boat, or do you streamline your holdings to just keep one pistol caliber and one rifle caliber?...
At first glance, I thought your list was IDENTICAL to mine. On closer examination, though, I see a few differences:

    I don't have any 7mm Mags.
In addition to your list, I do have:
.22 CB Caps (bought to kill possums, but they don't do the job)
.22 WMR (for rifle and pistol)
    .44 Special
    .44 Mag
    7.62 x 39
    .30-30
    20 ga.

Guess that makes 16. If things go according to plan, I'll be adding 7.5mm Swiss and .308 before too long!

I've tried pretty hard over the years to keep the caliber count down, but it hasn't always worked out. For years, I resisted buying a 9mm, thinking that between the .38/.357's and the .45, I didn't really need one. Years later, I used the same reasoning that with 9mm's and .45's, I really had no use for a .40, so I put off buying one for a long time. That argument didn't stand the test of time, either!

Anyway, they're all fun, and useful, so I have no immediate plans to get rid of anything!

    Regards,
    Jim

One of my rules is no new gauges or calibres. My local gun store knows me well enough that they don't show me anything outside those that I don't already have.

Without further adieu, here's the list.

    Shotgun
    .410
    20 gauge
    12 gauge

    Rifle
    .22 S-L-LR
    .22 WRF
    .223
    .270
    6.5mm Carcano
    .30 Carbine
    .303 Brit.
    .30-30
    .308 Russkie (7.62 X 39)
    .308 Win
    .30-06
    8mm Lebel

    Handgun
    .22 S-L-LR
    .25ACP (6.35mm)
    .32ACP (7.65mm)
    .380ACP
    .38 S&W
    .38 Spl.
    9mm
    .357 Mag.
    .44 Spl.
    .44 Mag.
    .45 ACP

I don't have .40, and I'm not interested in starting into it now.

    I thought I had a lot! I have:

    .22LR
    .38 Special
    .357 Magnum
    9mm Luger
    .45ACP
    .30 Carbine
    12 Gauge
    7.62x39

I have 5.45x39 and 20 Gauge, but no guns for those calibers. Sold the shotgun, and don't have a 5.45 rifle....yet. Would like to add a .30-06 or .308 at some point.

    22LR
    .380
    9 mil.
    40 cal
    45
    10 g
    12 g
    16 g
    20 g
    270

I'm good on ammo, except 45ACP and 5.56 NATO.

As soon as I get my food storage done, I'll start hitting the ammo real hard.

Yeah, but with 26 calibers, that ain't sayin' much. Sounds like you've got most of Aisles 3 & 4 covered, plus 95% of everything under glass. Ha!

Great list, BTW. Some interesting play-things, there.

Well... now we know why there has been an ammo shortage ... LOL.

If you can't find one, should be able to find one of the others... huh.
