I just bought my wife a .45 Kimber and she shot it for the first time last night. I had concerns that recoil would be too heavy for her but she did just fine. My question is who makes the lighest FACTORY loads for the 45? I want her to practice a bunch and the softest loads will make her practice more enjoyable. I will reload but currently don't have the time to do so. Input appreciated. Thanks
Federal 185 gr. FMJ WCs are loaded about as light as any, if they will feed in your gun. Historically, they have been about the most accurate factory load available for .45 ACP. They may be hard to find (what isn't?) and will be pretty expensive, though.

I can load your wife some ammo. Let me know what you want and how fast you want it. I'm gearing up to make a small run of lead .45 ACP if you want to get in on that. 230gr FN (flat nose) at 850fps is my standard load which is pretty typical but I can go as low as 675fps from a 5 inch.
