    Best SD .380 ammo?

Just got a Sig P232 and I know ammo is scarce,my only problem w/.380's but looking for advice on a good JHP. I also have a glock 19,which I love and shoot well.Ammo is cheap,so it gets alot of range time and carried often.Got sig for summer ccw.It was either sig or Kahr cw9 but price on NIB sig was $429.00+shipping,nice.Stainless,nite sights and houge grips.I probably should have stuck w/9mm,but it's a sig!

Can't go wrong with the Federal 90 gr hydra-shock. Remington GS is probably the heaviest you'll find at 102 gr, and is really good stuff.

Glad you like the Sig. That was my choice also. I'm using Speer Gold Dot JHP's personally for a couple of reasons. They have an excellent reputation, and more importantly, as I write this, they are in stock at Cabela's...

Thanks for the cabelas tip Gene.Just ordered gold dot and some FMJ fiocchis same price.I came very close to getting a 9mm Kahr because of ammo price but did'nt want to pass up sig.Still looking at the Kahr though.I would like to have 2 9mm's G19 is good in a iwb but Kahr would be better for t shirt weather.

I've got an order in for a Beretta PX-4 Storm subcompact chambered in .40 S&W If it ever gets here, it'll be my backup.

If it's penetration your looking for, the ball ammo does well. I've shot the S&B 92 gr. FMJ and the Remington 95 gr. MC through my P3AT with success (ie. no jams or FTF's through 250 rounds.)

If you're really looking for a JHP, though, check out the PDX1 rounds from Winchester. It's a 95 gr. JHP, and they shoot well through my gun.

Bikerboy....a question. Why not the P238? Not busting on you at all, just wondering. I'm thinking on another 238 (my wife will probably be taking mine soon) and I wondered what drove you towards the 232.

I'm a big fan of the Remington Golden Saber JHP .380; as far as I know it's the heaviest .380 JHP made.

I can't speak for Bikerboy, but I can tell you what made me buy the P-232.

Stainless steel, night sights, Hogue wrap around rubber grips.

I just plain thought she was purty.

If shot placement is king, penetration is queen and expansion is whatever is after that... b/c of that order I go FMJ in anything under 1000fps, that seems to be the bottom end for consistent expansion according to the "experts" especially in a smaller bullet...
