What's the best ammo for Kahr CW9?

I have a Kahr CW9 that I use for my CCW and would like to know what is the best brand name ammo (hollow point) that would work
    best for defensive carry.

I bought the pistol last Saturday and put 500 rounds through it on Sunday. 300 new brass and 200 reloads. No feeding / ejection malfunctions. 1 dud reload was only issue. I'm assuming that it will fire anything I put into it.

Should I use a +P hollow point or stick with subsonic rounds? Also, if any of you guys carry the CW9 what do you use?

    Thanks for any input

I don't have the CW9, but haven't had any issues with the Hornady Critical Defense ammo and the Corbon Pow'rball in my PM9.

    I have a Kahr PM9 and a MK9. I use Speer Gold Dot 124gr. +P. It's a very accurate round.

When I carried my CW9 it was in a Don Hume IWB holster and I loaded it with either Hornady Critical Defense or Speer GDHP +P.

I use Federal 9BP (classic HPs), Cor-Bon +P and Win Silvertips in mine. All feed fine and have accuracy commensurate with a compact 9mm handgun. They all happen to be 115 grain loads, but that's a coincidence. However, I would stick to the lighter rounds in this compact piece - 124 gr and under.

My CW9 is loaded with Doubletap +P 115 gr JHP.

    I have a Kahr PM9, P9, & K9. All will handle anything I load but always quality
HP's... My preference is either the Win Ranger 127 +P+ (my old duty load),
Fed HST 124 +p, or Speer Gold Dot 124 +p.

If you want an easier shooting load, the win ranger 147 gr HP is good too.

I am not crazy about the 115 gr stuff but that's just me.

Yep. I carry Speer Gold Dots in mine, 115 grain standard pressure. My CW9 is a real pleasure to shoot with that load and reliable too.

    9 mm

sorry, I couldn't pass up saying that.

Really, try out some different ammos and see what works the best in your gun for the type (HP, etc) you want to carry.

Any of these which are all vetted by Dr. Roberts:

Barnes XPB 105 & 115 gr JHP (copper bullet)
Federal Tactical 124 gr JHP (LE9T1)
Speer Gold Dot 124 gr +P JHP
    Winchester Ranger-T 124 gr +P JHP (RA9124TP)
Winchester Partition Gold 124 gr JHP (RA91P)
    Winchester Ranger-T 127 gr +P+ JHP (RA9TA)
    Federal Tactical 135 gr +P JHP (LE9T5)
Federal HST 147 gr JHP (P9HST2)
Remington Golden Saber 147 gr JHP (GS9MMC)
Speer Gold Dot 147 gr JHP
    Winchester Ranger-T 147 gr JHP (RA9T)
Winchester 147 gr bonded JHP (RA9B/Q4364)

    I suggest either the Win Ranger-T 124gr or 124gr +P.
