    Nice report and write up.

The only problem that I have with these types of ballistics tests is that they are using a gelatin that is close to the makeup of human flesh.

Everybody is different. Fat, toned muscle, organs all have different densities, and there is never any bone in these tests.

COM is typically right at the sternum. These tests would duplicate a gut shot.

They are also 1 shot, extract and measure.

Lets see a double or triple tap into the same block in the manner that we would expect in a real life shooting, then measure the hole(s).

As several people have posted in the past, if you want to see what your SD round is going to do, take it hunting and re-shoot your kill. That or fork over the money to buy a pig. Waste of meat, but realistic results.

[QUOTE=FLSquirrelHunter;1629617]First of all, [B]... Last and least, the reported data directly support only 1 of the 10, agree with 3 more, and disagree with 2 conclusions.

I hate that you typed all that up, but no where did I say that the facts and myth busting were based off my report.

Great report the separation is bit disconcerting. Out of 250 rounds of .230 grain HST I did not have a single separation. Looks like I may want to test some more rounds of it once it becomes more available. For now I am hanging onto what I have for SD

My interpretation; If he has but one gun, he has most likely shot it at all things at which he has shot, and become quite the expert at using it. I know that the daisy BB gun I got when I was four years old became so familar to me that the noisy cicadas in the trees in my backyard were in serious jeopardy any time they dared make a sound. Some days I would have those suckers lined-up in the driveway so far that I began to feel sorry for them.:king

Here is a link to a detailed analysis over at AR15.com, worth the read:

Good information for those 9MM "naysayers". I personally like the 9MM, not saying it is better or worse than other calibers out there, just personal preference. Anything you kill with your CCW is no more dead with a .45 than it is with a .25. Shot placement is key to SD! With the difference in penetration on your report, the 3 calibers all would be a good choice. Great report!
