Check you HO policy and see if it has any "exclusions" relating to firearms, ammunition, "explosives," etc. You could call your Ins Co and ask, but do you feel lucky? Do you really want to bring it to their attention?

Probably not. The same "dangers" could be said for the can of lawnmower gasoline in the garage.

I'm with OldVet; check your policy. One gets the coverage one is willing to pay for.

What is probably more important are the fire laws concerning quantity and storage of power and primers, as well as storage of loaded ammunition.

Powder and primers sitting on an open shelf is not proper storage.
