    OK to Practice with 115gn?

Is it really important to practice with what you carry? I'm beginning to see 9mm / 115gn on shelves. What are your thoughts on taking that to the range but carry heavier for SD?

Practice with the cheap 115gr stuff, run through a mag of whatever you carry at the end of your range session. In real world use you'll never notice the difference.

A lot or people recommend practicing with the same grain bullet as your SD rounds.

Definitely test out your SD ammo, make sure it's going to cycle without jams etc, but practice with something cheaper at the range...

When im shooting my 9mm i usually practice with 115! when I shoot my 147Gn I only shoot about 3 inches lower! so always try to shoot the cheap stuff for practice! but I do always shoot a few rounds of 147 gn every session!

The small amount of difference in ammo type is nothing to the impact adrenalin is going to have on you once your "fight or flight" kicks in. Use the cheap stuff for practice.

You will gain much through practice with the inexpensive 115 grain ammunition. The additional practice obtained through its affordability is far more important than any benefit derived from adhering to bullets of the same weight/performance.
