I saw it jam up a guy's H&K pistol at an Ayoob class September of this year.

I'm not sure which H&K it was...it was one of the newer ones, the P2000 or P3000 somethings with the decocker on the rear of the slide near the hammer.

Regardless, it wouldn't extract fired cases and was wretched.

It works fine in some pistols There are probably many more pistols that will fire it without problems than not. It is FMJ target ammo. It is not meant to be SD ammo.
It is not any less than some other brands. PMC is the same price for example $10.99 per 50. Cabela's prices are OK if it is a store purchase, otherwise they charge shipping the same as almost everyone else.

I am wary of steel casings. I have not shot any through any of my pistols but I am afraid there could be extro wear and tear on the guns components

It's more cheap Russian stuff being hussled onto the market using a fine old name.

Herters was the predecessor of Cabelas, Bass World, and the likes way back in the '60s-'70s. They had lots of unique stuff, many "kits" available to make your own whatevers, and some of the most outrageous advertizing since the old "sure to cure warts, colds and female issues" style ads. Pretty good stuff for back then, not always the best quality. The company went away @'80.

I still use my Herters reloading press and a few other leftovers from back then.
