I'm sitting here looking at the box I got a week ago. There is no refernce to GD. DT box doesn't say it either. I need carry ammo so I'll use what they have. I agree they should put up a notice that GD are not available and change the image on the web site.

Thanks bud! I've got a daughter going to med school in Bethesda. Pretty town, but I've never seen squirrels that size yet!

Double Tap has way more 10mm load options than Buffalo Bore. I would take Double Tap's load with a 150 gr Nosler JHP at 1,475 fps.

That is .357 Magnum level velocity, but with a bullet weighing 25 grains more.

Its much less expensive than the Buffalo Bore ammo too. The Nosler Double Tap loads are only 82 cents a round, compared to $1.46 for the Buffalo bore.

So the Buffalo Bore ammo is 78% more expensive. That would really add up over time.

Yes, you are. That statement makes no sense at all whatsoever.

Double Tap 10mm 135 gr Nosler fired into a water soaked phone book. Note: this is the entrance:

Hornady's 10mm ammo has a good reputation too.

Here is the exit damage done by a 200 gr Hornady XTP load to a single water soaked phonebook:

And here are some 200 gr Hornady XTP bullets fired into water jugs, and then recovered:

The Hornadys are great bullets. I use them for all my hunting loads. Also check out their 10mm hardcast loads for deep woods protection against predator animals. I have an entire case of the 200 grainers and swear by them.

Some have complained that they are not getting the claimed chrono results as DT claims. I have no way of knowing if this is true or not. The BB ammo is more expensive than DT as someone else posted.

I figure most SD shootings occur inside of 7 yards. 100 FPS less one way or the other seems inconsequential to me.

Congratulations. Is she going over at Navy? 10 minutes from me. Yeah we bagged that squirrel elsewhere!

Winchester silvertip 175's or some good ole Black Talon 200 grainers.

So there's no issue with expansion, and I'm not missing something then?

No, there is no issue with expansion that is unique to the 10mm. If anything, the higher velocity may cause to rapid expansion with some design/weights

That's kinda what I figured, but I see that on a quasi-regular basis. I just wish it wasn't so darned expensive. I do have a press with .40/10mm dies, so I would imagine I'll start hand rolling at some point.

I bought a box of BB 180gr a while ago, expensive but hot stuff! It was labeled as "Gold Dot" but they were Golden Sabers... Didn't really bother me since I just bought them to shoot.

I would personally avoid Double Tap these days, way too many reports of their ammo falling well below their claimed velocity and not just 10mm.

Swampfox is the new hot 10mm maker in town, I've never used his stuff but by all accounts it lives up to it's claims.

I recently I've started rolling my own, no chrono yet but I'm working up a hot 180gr load that should exceed 1350FPS and a 135gr load that should exceed 1600FPS.
