My Smith 65 4" is stoked with Magtech .357 158gr SJSP rounds. They are laser accurate and don't thump too bad.
I'm planning on getting a SP101 sometime this year, and it will be carrying Speer Gold Dots. Not sure if it will be 135gr .357 Short Barrel or 135gr .38+P.

I just practice with and carry Remington EXPRESS 125 gr. SJHP R357M1. I dont mind the recoil, I shoot hot loads with bigger calibers fine.
Golden Sabers should do the trick though.
It didn't turn out right but penetration and expansion data did come in correct order

Given that, it is sometimes hard to accommodate bulky speed loaders in tight pant pockets. At lease I know I can't.
One more step and it's on!
Any 125gr JHP .357mag will be good. The Corbon DPX are worth a look. (http://www.chuckhawks.com/cor-bon_DPX_pistol.htm).
Do try shooting a magnum in the dark to prepare yourself for the muzzle flash out of a short barrel.
For revolver carry, I use speed-strips for spare rounds. Easier to conceal although slow to reload.
Consider a Glock G32 .357Sig instead of a short barrel SP101. Similar ballistics to a .357Mag 125gr JHP out of a 4" barrel, similar size, lighter gun, and 14rd capacity. Prices should be close to the SP101. It took the place of an S&W M66 and is a big brother to my G19. If you have a G19, gun is same size and familiar to you (and holsters can be shared too). You can also go to a .40SW with an extra barrel.
Hands down Speer Gold Dot 125gr. Excellent numbers, bonded bullet.

Shoot 125 grain Golden Sabers in both my Colt and S&W snubbies. I am satisfied that they will perform and I know I can hit with them.
HST or Hyrdo-shok here.
Whatever you hit the target with, you will be glad you had.
