Summer's here: Thoughts about keeping some ammo in car trunk?

Here in Kansas the outside temps can easily reach the three-digit range through mid August. I like keeping a hundred or so rounds of range ammo in my car trunk in the event the itch/opportunity occurs to shoot at my local range or at a friend's farm.

Interior car temps easily reach 120+ but in the trunk it's usually just a little more than the ambient temps.

    Thoughts?

I seriously doubt that you would have any problem doing so.

Been in the AZ desert for 8 years now... there's always been ammo in the car no matter the season. Triple-digit temps are the norm from the end of My until the end of September. I try to shoot the car stuff about every 6 months or so, but I've never had a problem with it.

If ammo can be counted on to work after bouncing around in the back of an Humvee in the sandbox a car trunk should be no problem. I'd rotate it out every 6 months jic.

Ammo should be good, but don't let kydex get too hot.

Carried a lot more than a few hundred rds in the trunk of my squad car for a lot of years. Stays pretty "Toasty" about 9 months out of the year down here. It all performed as expected when used.
