Has anyone actually seen Federal Guard Dog EFMJ ammo in stores?

I want some. I have shot the old stuff, the Expanding Full Metal Jacket ammo before the "redesign" and rename. But I want to get some of the Guard Dog ammo and try it out and if it works, I will be carrying it. I really like the EMFJ. Great design and idea. But so far, I can't find the Guard Dog on shelves anywhere. The Federal website says it is carried at Gander Mountain but they have never seen it.

There are a few places on the web carrying it.

    They seem light for caliber.

    Seriously light for caliber.

Serious underpenetration with them as well.

I like the old "LEO-only" 9mm +P 124 gr EFMJ. From the testing I've seen, that version works quite well. I've been waiting for Federal to make some more of it for quite some time. I've even emailed them directly. The bottom line is that I'm not holding my breath that they will make any more, any time soon. That's a shame, because I really like the round.

ETA - Here's a test, out of the short barrel of a KT P11...pretty impressive:

Since I've switched to carrying two LCPs every day, I guess it is a mostly moot point - I use flat-point FMJ in the .380 caliber.

I have seen some tests done with ballistic gelatin (the old name version EFMJ) and it did not under penetrate. Not at all. I'd be surprised if the guard dog performed any different. The only real difference is the name and the look of the round. It was really just an attempt to do a better job marketing the ammo.

I carry the 124 +p efmj bought 10 boxes about 4 years ago and love the round. Was curious bout this new guard dog stuff myself.

In the heavier bullet wieghts--say the 124+p 9mm...you're right.

In the lighter weights--the 105gr, for instance...not so much.

And Guard Dog is all lightweight.
