    The drawback I see is say, you want 9mm, .45 ACP and 7.62X39. Since the company is shipping you what is on your want list, but say they get a great deal on 7.62X39, you could end up with an over abundance of that ammo, and next to nothing on the other 2 calibers. I prefer to buy what I want, so I don't end up with an overage of 1 caliber and shortage on another.

    I suppose it may have value to some, but I'd rather cherry pick what's on my mind at the time.

    No thanks. My factory ammo purchases are less than 10 percent of what I shoot. Besides, I can buy locally as cheaply as CTD and most other places once you add in shipping.

    I like & appreciate the creative "out of the box" thinking though.

    I can't buy them for the price that I can make them for
    .45acp=7.86/50
    9mm=6.55/50
    40 s&w=7.25/50

    No thanks, not for me. I just buy in bulk every few months and go from there to get my beset deals.

    I have found that if you have a Cabelas near enough to drive to to pick up your order (no shipping costs then) it is the best option for cheap ammo.

    I like the idea. It would take a lot of detail and planning to properly implement something that people would like.

    I'm trying to envision what something like this would look like on the web. First you would register on the site, then once logged in you could go to your ammunition subscription page. You could have unlimited amount of choices, it would start with say 3 or 5, and then once those are selected it would add more drop-down boxes to select more calibers. You could select your caliber in a drop-down box. After that, below would appear the brands and specific ammo products that the company sells in that caliber, a thumbnail picture of the round, a link to the ammo's product page (so you could view more info such as detailed descriptions, reviews, and maybe even amount currently in stock?), and current price with a checkmark box beside each product. You would check each product you would be willing to buy. So say you are ok with Speer Gold Dots, Federal Guard Dog, and Remington Golden Sabers, so you check those. After you finish selecting the calibers and products, the next page you could set an amount for each (this would be a per month thing), and then maybe you could have the option to also set a price (I'm thinking like setting price to buy a stock in the stock market). So when the amount you selected drops to your price (and your monthly billing date comes back around), it would send you an email, asking you to confirm or reject your order, detailing what is in the order (product, amount, price). (maybe even having to go and enter your security code from your CC/debit on their secure web page to confirm it) You could also set the date for orders, such as first Saturday of the month, 1st of the month, etc.

    I think this would be a great idea. It might be slightly too complicated for a business, not sure.

    I agree completely. We also have a local LGS that often beats Cabela's prices, especially when they have a big bulk (100-200k rounds) purchase.

    Nope.

    I don't think Obama will be staying in the White House much longer. I'm not worried either way.

    Interesting idea but I am afraid way too many details to settle first.
