Yes without a doubt.
Never felt undergunned while carrying one

Heard a story on another forum where a BG got shot at point blank range with a 9mm. The bullet hit him right in the center of his left eyeball and just bounced off.![]()

Sure it does...
keep shooting until the threat ceases and your "stopping power" will be 100%.

Seriously, 9mm was enough for Tupac and Biggie.

not worried here about "one shot stops"....just worried about shooting "til the threat stops". Carry heavy bullets for best penetration, and you should be good to go.

This. Ballistic charts are a reference tool. I have seen men drop dead from a .22 and walk to the ambulance after being hit with a load of buckshot. It all depends on shot placement and their own will to live.
I can tell you 9mm FMJ ball ammo will kill a man deader than a door nail when delivered in the right place or in enough volume, are there better options? Hell yes. Does it work the way it is supposed to yep. Like I said I have never felt undergunned when carrying one. My Glock 19 is sitting beside me now as I type and I feel just fine.

I don't know if it true or not, but a .22 can be just a powerful in the right gun...
In a direct answer to the OP..."Why of course!"

As it turns out, getting shot with any bullet hurts like' the dickens. Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to carry 9mm 147gr and feel completely confident.

of course it does, however, there are better options and there are worse options. search for other threads. There is one called "The Official 9mm vs. .40 Debate" from like 3 months back. I think every member replied about 20 times a piece in that one.Lots of good stuff in it.
