Now we are talking...all those 9mm bullets add up to a .45 right?!

When they make a reliable .45 that handles as well and is the size of my PM9 I might consider it.

If it makes you feel better shooting .45 and you shoot it well, great.

I personality don't feel the least bit hindered by my 9's.

I like having the same caliber on my side and under my bed. I wouldn't carry one and keep the other for a bedside gun though.

Only if they're Drop Free, so I can quickly load a new one, JIC.

I've been a 9mm guy all my life. I've looked at .45s, shot my dad's colt, talked about them, researched them, etc... but I never looked down the barrel before like I did. It just sorta hit me "holy crap that's really, really huge".

Now, I'm not saying .45 is better than 9mm. I'm not saying it isn't, either. But what I am saying is that I get WHY .45ers love the round so much. There are advantages to both rounds , and I use, and carry, both. My regular carry is a PF9. My new secondary carry is the M&P45c. I'm comfortable with either, but I'll wear them in completely different situations.

The diameter difference is just about 2.5mm, or about 1/10 of an inch. It really is a tiny, tiny difference in any real sense, but it does SEEM big when you are looking at both rounds/barrels side by side.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

In sizes I'm used to measuring, 2.5mm is huge.

And of course if your marksmanship is borderline that extra tenth of an inch diameter can be the difference between qualifying and not.

But in terms of the size of the hole, 9mm cross section area is about 63.6 sq mm, .45 is about 102 sq mm. That's about a 60% bigger hole.

The only common sense gun legislation was written about 224 years ago.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.

    Big, heavy, need-suspenders-and-bandoleer rounds.
