    I want penetration above all things, something that is going to hit the spine and put someone out of commission quick !

    In my opinion you are already using the best 38 special round available.

    Regardless of the caliber or type of handgun, for a weapon in your hand is only as good as the person using it...

    And any handgun is better than none

    Sounds to me like you've got a very useful round as it is. Shooting through a human body is harder than it looks. A full wadcutter or semi-wadcutter pushes a lot in front of it, rather than slipping around stuff.

    I'd save the 'new ammo' money for the revolver on your schedule.
