    Your inventory of carry ammo

How many rounds of ammunition do you currently have in your inventory for your carry weapons?

For the purpose of this survey, if you are a reloader, don't count the inventory of supplies that could be turned into additional rounds, but has not been. Count your carry ammo and also your practice ammo.

Actual carry ammo? or ammo for my carry weapon? I keep very little carry ammo. If I need more, I'll just buy a box or two at a time. But range ammo FOR my carry weapon, I usually have anywhere from 500-1000 maybe more. I'm low right now.

Not enough. I'm going to start buying a couple extra boxes each month of SD and range ammo.

I try to keep between 1000-1500 rounds for each firearm I own. I plan on increasing this to 2500 in the near future. Yeah, I'm a little paranoid. But,when the zombies come I will be ready :).

I've got 22 sacks of prime Idaho potatoes. Oh wait you said carry gun, that's for my truck mounted potato turret. About 400 rounds of 9mm give or take.

Your survey read 'carry ammo', so I voted 600+ rounds. Your post said to include 'practice ammo' Humm ..... I usually try to have at least twice that amount for practice. I carry a .357 so I can just as easily carry .38+P ...

One needs to reread the op.

I keep a box or two of carry ammo. The practice ammo is what builds up.

I agree. I fire at least twice a week, and watch ammo prices like a hawk. My practice ammo inventory is rather high, as I look to buy in bulk at bargain prices when I find them. My actual carry ammo, not so much.

I've got 50 rounds or so for each of my carry ammo, but typically have between 250-500 rounds of range ammo for each pistol or revolver.

My two carry weapons are a Taurus 617 (relatively heavy steel 2" 357 mag revolver) and a Ruger LCR in 357 magnum. I primarily feed the LCR with 38 special +P and reserve the Taurus for 357 magnum. I carry Speer Gold Dot's in both, but I also have some Buffalo Bore rounds and Corbon DPX rounds which I picked up when researching my preferred carry ammo. So I currently have an abundance of carry ammo... close to 200 rounds counting both 38's and 357's.

I reload for range ammo in both guns. I have about 200 rounds of hand loaded 357 and 200 rounds of hand loaded 38 special on hand at the moment.

I've found an hour at the range costs me several hours when I get back home -- clean the gun, clean and de-prime the brass, and reload what I shot. But I gotta practice. My DA trigger pull needs work.

    Laziest ATF agent evah.

    Butt load

    N. 1. An extremely large quantity of anything that takes up space. 10x bigger than an 888load , and 100x bigger than a $$$load , yet smaller than a truckload.
