wife carries G26, got her the 127 +P winchester ranger

The 124 gr. +P Speer Gold Dot is one of the finest SD loads available.

In fact, after two years of testing every single law enforcement agency in France adopted this load. That's A LOT of testing.

FWIW, I carry the COR-BON DPX 115 gr. +P as I prefer the all-copper bullet construction of the Barnes TAC-XP/XPB bullet as copper is much, much harder than traditional jacketed lead bullets. Therefore you get the speed and energy of a fast and light 9mm load with the penetration of a heavy 9mm load.

I carry the 147gr. gold dots personally. It seems like the added weight always seemed like a good idea to me.

I carry Speer Gold Dots in my 9mms, .40, and .357s. Heaviest projectile available in each. You just cannot go wrong with it in any caliber.

Gold Dot 124+P is a documented and PROVEN round with tons of street credit to its name. That said I find it very "snappy" in my compact pistol. I would personally choose the 124 for that reason as I believe accurate (and faster) hits on target are more important than a few FPS. Both will do the job.

The 124 gr. +P Speer Gold Dot is my current EDC load, and it is one of the most proven hollow point designs available.

It's also the issued load of the NYPD, and 100% of French police forces are issued this load; the French chose Gold Dot after very extensive testing of all current premium loads.

    You've made a great choice!

I use the 124 GD's in the warmer months, then switch over to 147's when the temperature starts dipping.

GD 124+p here in my G26. (Well, that and Hornady TAP). I trust my life to it. Though I will stop short of saying that it is proven reliable, since I haven't had to shoot anyone yet....
