Need 800 rds 9mm for a shooting course..suggestions

Will be attending a tactical pistol course in early June. Course requirements are 800 rounds of ammo. I'll be shooting my Glock 19. I believe that some of the targets will be reactive so factor that into your answer. Looking for a good quality/price point Thanks !

Just any reliable, bulk-pack ball ammo (FMJ) that works well in your gun. At the last local gun show I picked up 500 rounds of Win "unleaded" 147 gr for $125... which I thought was a good price if not a screamin' deal. For a training course, I would avoid commercial reloads except perhaps for Black Hills. You don't want to be "that guy" who bogs the class down with repeated ammo-related gun problems.

Don't worry about what ammo to get because of reactive targets. Poppers and plates will fall with a hit from even a light (115 gr) 9mm, they just go down a little faster with the heavier rounds.

Buds gun shop has Federal 147 and 115 for 10-11 $ a box. I think a whole case runs from 215-235.

Academy Sports had 100 rd boxes of Winchester white boxes 9mm 115 gr FMJ for around $23 if I recall correctly. That would be about $184 plus tax

I'd do some shopping around. With shipping from an online store you're looking at close to 250. You probably can't beat that at a brick and mortar, but look anyway.

your interested in cost and your taking courses--perhaps re-load

a dillion Sq deal sets up for 1 caliber about $600,
it resells close to what you paid, the longer you have it, but say a penny around to load.

800 plated would cost you 3 hours and under 17 cents per round. savings of ~$50/800
machine pays for itself in about 10K rounds. much less when you factor in resale value.

something to think about is you are going to put in the practice ( courses and rounds down range)
it generally takes to be as good as you wish to be.

If you buy 100 rounds a week locally and stockpile them you will end up with over 800 rounds by the time your course comes up,and have no shipping charges

last time i bought a case of 9mm I got winchester ranger 124gr fmj. the were loaded a little hotter than the stuff I get at walmart. closer to defensive ammo.

I went through ammo to go for it. feed well. I liked it. another option if you don't mind spending a little more than what federal etc costs
