Does anyone have any experience and/or knowledge about this new defense round? Thought I might replace my 125 gr. SJHP.
Thanks.

It should answer all your questions regarding .38 Special SD ammo.

Some promising info out there, Youtube and a magazine or two including Loads for Snub Nose Revolvers . I bought a couple boxes to try in my snub and my Model 10, but haven't gotten to the range yet.
I have seen both the good and the bad articles, but if you happen to youtube tnoutdoors9, he has done a test on that specific ammo choice and his results after shooting into simtest media through denim were no good. The bullet failed to expand after being clogged with denim. I know all HP bullets can fail but he also did a retest in a later video and it failed the same way. 2 bullets, 2 differet times, same results. Not too good. Good it be a bad bath? Possibly, but none the less, it is not reasuring what soever.

Why are you looking to change? For curiosities' sake or because you've identified a deficiency with the round you are carrying?
Probably reading too much about new technology...being from wisconsin and now being able to carry concealed, was wondering if my old 125 gr. SJHP +P was still a good round for self defense. Thanks to all who offered info...

I try not to buy into the Magic Bullet thing, I bought the Winchesters before I saw the tnoutdoor test, I think I saw one other positive. I bought the ammo before I bought the snub, I figured it would be a better performer in the 4" barrel. I figure I don't want to get shot with any of it. I have a smorgasbord of 38 Spl in the safe, you can't have too much...
Experience with, no, but I've been carrying the Winchester Ranger 130-gr. +P load in my LCR for a while.
I like it because the 135-gr. Gold Dot Short Barrel +P load is impossible to find, and this seems a close facsimile. I don't like the recoil of the heavy 158-gr. +P LSWCHP load or the tendency to pull bullets it can have if not properly crimped. I don't like paying $1.50 a round for a box of 20 solid-copper DPX bullets, either.
Hakkaa päälle!
Yesterday's "hi-tech" wonder ammo bounces off assailants beginning the very day the "next greatest thing" in ammunition technology is introduced.
Becomes totally ineffective, even with perfect hits!
How much marketing manipulation can be sustained by people buying personal defense ammunition? Obviously quite a lot as more and more folks get on the merry-go-round.
