I wonder if the primer compound getting rattled loose issue could be drastically reduced by a controlled lowering of the slide in order to chamber the round? That would take away a lot of the inertia that a full force slide lock lever release would impart to a round.
When I recharge any of my weapons with carry ammo, I always ease the slide forward with just enough speed to make sure the round has slipped up under the extractor claw.
In theory that sounds to me like it would take care of the problem; I don't think I'm willing to bet my or my family members' lives on it when it's such a small price to pay for the peace of mind. But to each his own. It is a good idea though.Quote:

We have a whole generation of guys that never grew up shooting, hunting, and learning how to clean and work on guns. To me, that is sad. Our fathers plinked .22's after school, his generation probably played video games. (because that was all they could do)
