If I remember correctly from a different thread I saw that in (I think), the two on the right are 9mm while the ones on the left might be .357 crammed in to 9mm brass. Maybe?

    I carry a ruger sr9c just fyi.
Also I'd like to buy some serious bulk ammo for shooting, does anyone know a good target round that would still be nice to have when the world goes to he**? Lol somethin pretty cheap but will still do some good if I don't have immediate access to top line defense rounds.

    Thanks for any help!
I use Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P. Buy it in packs of 50 in the "Law Enforcement" packs - it's apparently the same ammo as the 20 pack but way cheaper. I don't have any experience with these rounds when it comes to actual self defense use, but they feed well in my Sig P226. NYPD apparently uses this round if that matters to you..

For bulk range ammo I stick with the same weight of bullet (124 grain) and go either with Federal American Eagle 124 grain FMJ, or Speer Lawman FMJ at the same weight. I actually just ordered 2 cases (40 boxes of 50 rounds) for a total of $460 including shipping from sgammo.com. That's $11.50 per box all included, which I think is pretty darn good.

That's correct. I almost found out the hard way if I didn't notice that the slide didn't go to battery.

I'm really surprised not many have mentioned the CorBon products.

Their DPX line has been mentioned in ALOT of "best of best" comparisons. It is of course +P ammo, so make sure your pistol can handle the higher pressure rounds. The CorBon website has an email directly to their technicians who reply within a couple days. I carry a S&W M&P 9 compact, and they confirmed their +P ammo works great in this pistol (They actually said the M&P are their testing pistols for all their quality control).

Additionally they offer LEO + Military discounts (I think its 20% off + Free Shipping).

    Hornady TAP

Nevermind, I missed the original premise of good range round as well as protection. Silly me...

My SR9c has eaten everything I've fed it including
    WWB 115gr FMJ
    Winchester NATO 124gr FMJ
    Federal 115gr FMJ
    Americal Eagle 124gr FMJ
    Atlanta Arms 115 FMJ
    PMC 115gr FMJ
    RWS 115gr FMJ
    Federal HydraShok 124gr +p JHP CorBon PowRball 100gr +p
    Hornady Critical Defense 115gr JHP
Speer Gold Dot 124gr +p JHP

I carry the Gold Dots. I have a couple 50ct boxes of Federal HST 124gr +p that I haven't had a chance to test yet. I expect no issues and will probably carry those once I've shot a few mags of them.
