When I was about 11 and went in the desert with friends and our bb guns to shoot stuff,we had one kid with a pump-up pellet gun.He could pump it about 15 times,I could get about 10 since each pump got harder.after 15 pumps I saw him shoot at a can on an asphalt road and where the pellet ricocheted it left a puff of smoke,There is no doubt in my mind that gun had enough power to kill somebody if they got hit right

I get a kick out of people asking me " when they find out I have a 9mm" what are you going to do with that throw it at some one. I want a 45 so I make sure I take a BG out. I think they should see this article.

Yes, he died; but how long did it take? .22 short will kill you; but if you're not hit right it could take a couple days.

Reagan and Brady were shot with a .22 LR from a RG-14. I actually have one. I collect firearms and have been trying to get a copy of all the firearms used in assainations/attempts around the world. The thing is a piece of junk! But it sure can kill or almost kill. Got it for 3o Bucks.

People underestimate the power of a pellet gun. I bought a Powerline 880 to kill a muskrat that did over $1000 worth of damage in our garage. 800 feet per second with 9 pumps. Could pump it more if you wanted to, but it will shatter any glass bottle EASILY, there is no doubt it could seriously injure or kill someone. People even today need to learn gun safety, pellet guns are not toys.

I have a pellet rifle that lives right next to the hunting rifle in the safe, I know how dangeous it can be 900 fps. Now that the boys are out of the house I don't have to worry so much about the small critters and cats around the house.

Part of the reason people assume pellet/BB guns are not powerful is many grew up using spring-action guns with velocities around 100 to 200 fps. I have a huge collection of BB and pellet guns. I'm convinced that some of the high-end pellet guns with velocities around 1,200 fps with .22 caliber pellets are probably just as powerful as a regular .22LR. Here's a video showing a pellet pistol shooting various objects.
