    Winchester bonded 230gr JHP.

It's not the best, but it's good enough and my local Walmart always has it in stock.

But seriously, I wouldn't be shy about shooting someone with good old-fashioned 230gr hardball, if they really needed it.

Great info I wish I had asked earlier! Off topic: can stock Glock barrels handle +p and +p+ ammo or do I need an aftermarket barrel?

Factory Glock bbl will handle all +p and +p+ just fine. I wouldn't want an aftermarket bbl for a carry piece.

I carry Federal 230gr HST +p or Winchester Ranger Bonded 230gr JHP in my G30SF but will probably go to a lighter 185 or 200 gr when I'm out of these. I like the idea of lighter and faster for shorter bbl guns personally since there is a velocity loss.

    I also carry 115, 124, 127gr in 9mm for my G26 but favor the 147gr in G17, G34 etc...

Good point. I knew that but never considered it when buying ammo. Thank you.

It's a .45. Most anything makes a pretty good-sized hole and hurts like crazy.

At close range, anything you put in it will accomplish the job. Only a bazooka will do it better.

I don't have a g30 but if I did I'd feed it kitchen steak knives, they never seem to miss their target

Pic of recovered rounds from recent ballistic test done by law enforcement @ Streicher's LE supplier
Hopefully you can make out the picture!
Also I didn't go with Speer because of the over penetration it was shown to have.

I use Winchester Rangers and PDX1 and Gold Dots in my 30SF.... I just shot each of those rounds into a bucket of sand and not one of them opened up... I would have thought that they would open ??
