I've already learned that...seems like I can only find about seven or eight out of every ten I shoot.

I "trim" all of my rifle cartridges(only adds a few seconds to case prep even if it is not really needed). I have never trimmed a straight walled pistol cartridge. 9mm, .45acp or .40sw will split or have other visible issues long before they stretch enough to be an issue. I suppose that loading very hot could make a difference though.

    So you're the guy!

    THANKS!

I always wind up with more .223 brass than I shoot!

I run all my cases in a trimmer, sometimes it just cleans up the edge, maybe from a crimp. Just part of my routine. I don't think much ever comes off the pistol cases. Since the case is in the holder I polish it up and inspect as part of the process. I think everyone comes up with their own system. I take my time. I also enjoy it. It does suck when you need to make 500 rounds for a match and have only a couple days to prepare.

On the .223 they have a nice little brass catcher for the ARs. I like them in the winter when I shoot with snow on the ground. They don't work in matches because you have to single load in slow fire.
CALDWEL AR Brass Catcher , AR-15 Enhancment Parts | LG Outdoors under 10 bucks and it works. sometimes hot brass melts into the mesh.

Did not see RCBS mentioned in this thread...

Wondering what the consensus is on this kit ($250 after $50 rebate):
