This is what I like about single stack 1911 mags. they are so thin they just slip in a pocket. I always carry a spare on me and a couple in the truck.

I always carry a spare mag with me any time I leave the house, one 15 rounder in the gun and one 15 rounder in either my pocket or in either my Galco mag carrier or my kramer mag carrier.

You never know what you might run into and you never know if your mag that is in the gun will malfuction.:D

A great unobtrusive carry for spare magazines is an old eyeglass case. Nobody notices them, they can be carried just about anywhere, and are available in different sizes.
The spare ammo issue is frequently blown out of proportion for CCW use, but if you want to fly under the radar there are numerous options.

1 extra 16 rd mag. on my belt, weak side slightly behind, if I am wearing a flat bottom untucked shirt. Otherwise I have a hard time concealing it as well as I\'d like.

I always carry at least 1 spare reload on my person. If I\'m carrying my Kimber .45, it means I can also conceal a spare mag on my belt. More often, I pocket carry a S&W 642, with a pair of Speed Strips in a hip pocket.

I usually have a BUG, too.

Always carry at least one extra mag in a vertical pouch opposite holster. Extra ammo is not the prime consideration, if mag in gun fails then have a back-up. With single- stack guns always have a 3rd. mag generally in an outside pocket.

Those of you who carry speed strips, where do you carry them? if in pants pocket, do the rounds just fall out when mixed with keys change etc. Revolver in 1 pocket everything else in the other.

I carry 3 spare mags no matter what (two on the bianchi belt pouch, left side, one in the pocket)
Bianchi Speed strips I carried 4 of them with the revolver.
Speed loaders.. I carried 3 of them. I preferred the Safari Land ones, though I have some that are called "Second Six" They are a push type speed loader...light plastic and skeletonized. (not the six second type by hks)
I always learned that the badguys know their weapons as well as we good guys do. They also know what weapons hold for Mag capasity. I'd like to think I'd give em a big surprise for the ones who count the number of rounds you shoot.

Summer carry - SP-101 - at least one spare reload - comp 1 in a pocket.

Current carry SIG 226 - usually just a hi-cap mag on board and that's all. Sometimes tho I'll pick up a spare mag depending where I am going. I tend to think that if 15 rounds won't do it - then I do indeed have a BIG problem!!

This is all because of my area - relatively low crime. That said - I guess a spare full mag is with me 50% of time.

    Always One Extra Mag

With a revolver 5 or 6 extra rounds depending on the revolver.
(which is really stupid when I think about it...because even with a 5 shot revolver it sure wouldn't hurt to lug around a bit more extra ammo)
When I "shoulder carry" then 2 or even 3 spare mags to balance the rig.

G19 everyday (except at the gym). 15 in the gun, 17-round mag on my other hip.

At the gym it's a SW642 in a fanny pack, with one speedloader in the pack as well.

So I don't look cool. So what? I'll be alive. :)

Same here - that's a great pouch. Easy to draw from when standing, bent over, or seated.
