    Gotta Love WWB Ammo

Just shot a box of my carry WWB 115 jhp's out of my Taurus PT-111
Mil-Pro today. 3 inch groups at 10 yards. Not bad for a 3 1/4" barrel. Nothing like having confidence in your carry ammo. Great stuff. I called Winchester Tech service about a month ago, to get the scoop on this stuff. What I found out amazed me. I was told that it's the same stuff as the Winchester Ranger LEO ammo. (non-Talon, and non- +P). It's also same stuff as the silver-tip, without the silver coating on the bullet, But it's loaded identical. They save money by volume sales on the WWB stuff

At the same token, I called Remington Tech Service, and asked them about their economy UMC line in 9mm jhp's. They say they use the same bullet as in there green box stuff, but they do not waterproof the primers, or add flash suppressant. That's how they cut costs.

Which one would you rather carry?

I can't even do the WWB stuff because it seems to cause FTF jams in my H&K. However, given the choice I think I'd def go with the WWB.

It sure seems to do OK for practice and club compo's.

Thx softpoint for the interesting tech' info.

I buy the WWB JHP's for personal protection because I can't afford the more expensive stuff. I've never had a problem with it at the range the few times that I've shot it.

SP, Both of the brands that you mentioned(WWB and UMC) above shoot excellent, and to the same POI with the same POA, outta my 3" 1911 also.

For me,either is great training ammo. ----------

i shoot wwb at the range with my h&k and i haven't had a problem that i could attribute to the ammunition. i've found it to be accurate and reliable. imho, it is the best deal in ammo and my only reason for going to wal-mart.

now for carry, i keep 147gr federal hydrashocks loaded.

WWB FMJ isn't bad for target in .45 but use Golden Sabres for carry.
9mm WWB all the way-FMJ and JHP
